Here’s one thing I know. Being white, I don’t know what it is to live under the oppression that Blacks have endured throughout their history in this country. I can’t afford anything extra at the moment. But, I’m rooting for you and Colin Alfred.
Teach an old white guy something along the way, will you?
If every American voted "yea" or "nay" on Trump's B.B.B., I can assure you it would have been blown out of the water. So much for our representative form of government. If you think our country isn't circling the drain, you're either stupid, ill-informed or both.
I hear all the historical context and I’m 100% sure this will all change a few years down the road but it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better and frankly, I’m not willing to risk my family’s safety while I’m waiting for some people to put their ego aside and realize they’re quite possibly the dumbest group of people in our nations history. So I’ll be in another country comfortably watching and waiting for things to get better.
But don’t you really have concerns that free elections are over? Do you actually think we’ll be able to elect a democratic Congress or a Democratic president again?
Stop your crying…. You didn’t say a word when the BIDENS ADMINISTRATION drove our deficit up by 6 trillion.. Go to work and stop sucking off people’s money!
I watched and rewatched the video. I played it on the biggest screen in our house. Like Sherlock Holmes, I even got out our magnifying glass. Nary a tear, which is what I would expected if he was crying.
Instead, I saw an acknowledgment of our fear, concern, and outrage over the future of the country that we really do love. But, in the last five months, we have witnessed the wholesale erosion of freedom of the press, equal rights under the law, free speech, separation of church and state, the separation of powers (which means the President doesn’t get to ignore the courts, in case you need a refresher), the rule of law, presumption of innocence until proven guilty, the ability to buy elections, the wanton destruction of agencies that are designed to protect all of us, threats against tax exempt organizations that point out the excesses of the President, defunding the quality programming on NPR and PBS, attacks on educational institutions, and rule by Executive Order rather than legislation by the people (to be fair, this happened under Democrats, too, though not generally by claiming a national emergency using obscure laws from the late 1700’s), the forthcoming removal of millions of people from Medicaid, and blatant buying of government positions and policy. Regarding the economy, you might want to remember that part of the deficit you cited was to help America not only recover from a pandemic that President Trump said would be no worse than the flu. The damage to the economy, just as was the case in recovery from the Great Depression, required deficit spending. I can’t imagine how ill-prepared we will be if something like that happens during his second term having destroyed all the scaffolding necessary to intervene and rebuild. That, Dear Friend Julia, though there is more than enough to cry about. Maybe all of that makes America the greatest place for you to live. If so, I’m truly sad for you. Indeed, at least some of our tears are for all those who will be surprised (if they aren’t yet), by the lengths this Administration is willing to go.
I’m retired. I’m obviously older. And, White.

You give me faith! 💙
Bless you. Not feeling hopeful right now.
Mostly thinking that “guns don’t kill people” Republicans do.
Very cynical.
Trump and everyone who works for him are deeply cynical. It helps them because they don’t care about anyone who isn’t rich.
Billionaires and corporations paid a lot of money for this legislation to pass.
It’s a big return on their investment.
Cynical - word of the day!
I totally believe in you. You are what is giving me hope! I’m a boomer grandma from upstate NY. Keep up your optimism!

Thank you for your leadership.
