They called this scam of a bill “big” and “beautiful.” I call it what it is: a Big Rip-Off. A rip-off of our healthcare. A rip-off of our economy. A rip-off of our future. And today, they showed us exactly who they’re fighting for, and it’s not folks like me and you.
But I’m here to tell you one thing: we don’t give up.
I’m a big reader of history.
You see, back in 1928, Herbert Hoover won in a landslide. The country looked red from coast to coast. But just one year later, the economy collapsed. And when it did, the American people didn’t throw in the towel. They fought back. And that fight brought us Franklin Roosevelt, who kicked off an entire generation of Democratic dominance.
And what came out of that Democratic era?
Social Security
Medicare
Medicaid
The Civil Rights Act
The Voting Rights Act
And so much more.
None of that happened by accident. It happened because Democrats held power and used it. They used it to lift this country up and bring millions of people into the promise of America for the first time.
Now, I know this bill hurts. I know it feels like a punch in the gut. But don’t forget: our fellow Americans didn’t give up back then and we’re not giving up now.
Take a moment. Dust yourself off. Drink some water. Get some rest. Because starting tomorrow, we fight to win this era.
Not just for a seat. Not just for a headline.
We fight to build the kind of Democratic power that brings real change.
The kind that expands healthcare
The kind that protects our rights
The kind that rewrites the rules for the many, not the few
