Hear! Hear! Every time some Republican complains about Illinois, the only major state super-gerrymandered Democratic (there are about a dozen GOP-gerrymandered states) my response has always been "Texas first. Then we'll talk." I live in Ohio, a purple state gerrymandered red (yes, it impacts statewide elections by discouraging and confusing voters) — a situation I believe is similar to Texas, where turnout is very low among some voter groups and people have been saying for years that if its Hispanics voted in the same percentages that they do in California Texas would already be a blue state. A strong explanation why there are so many voter roadblocks in Texas when voting is so easy in California.
Go for it, show some balls, Repugs never play fair, beat them at their own game (shouldn’t be a game when you’re playing with our lives whoever wins but…)
Isiah, your video is interesting. However, do you really think if blue states gerrymandered Republicans out of power and they then came to the table to negotiate that they would ever uphold their part of the bargain after they won the presidency and congress again? I don’t.
I think they should try it. My home state is the only major state gerrymandered blue (Illinois) and as far as I'm concerned it's worked out fine. Great governor, great senators, one (retiring) soon to be replaced by another great senator, probably current lieutenant governor Juliana Stratton, many excellent congresspeople such as the incredible Lauren Underwood.
Here in Ohio, where I have the misfortune to live, gerrymandering has killed the state and will be burying it deeper as the GOP supermajority in the legislature just passed the state version of the "Big Beautiful Bill," doing things like slashing public education and child care {"we don't have the money") and persecuting trans kids while raiding a state fund to give $600 million to a billionaire team owner for a new stadium. We just had the biggest political scandal in Ohio history (all Republicans) and can't do anything to fix it because of gerrymandering. And we had a citizen ballot issue last November to undo gerrymandering that polled 70-75% support, and they defeated it by calling it a lie on the ballot. Our odious secretary of voter suppress...I mean, STATE.... named it "This issue will require gerrymandering."
"USE LEVERAGE TO BAN PARTISAN GERRYMANDERING IN ALL 50 STATES" - Do it! Shout it out to anyone that will listen.

We have been playing with a different rule book. This idea has real merit!
Good, about time, why haven't we done it sooner
Let’s do it!!!
I called Abe left a message for Governor Pritzker
Pritzker where are you on this???

Yes! Time to get dirty Democrats!
Completely agree
I like this very much. Speaking for a person in a very red gerrymandered Indiana state.
The moral high ground and polite decorum tied the party in knots

I pray to God this is over!!!
